क॒न्या॒३॒॑ वार॑वाय॒ती सोम॒मपि॑ स्रु॒तावि॑दत् अस्तं॒ भर॑न्त्यब्रवी॒दिन्द्रा॑य सुनवै त्वा श॒क्राय॑ सुनवै त्वा
"DOWN to the stream a maiden came, and found the Soma by the way. Bearing it to her home she said, For Indra will I press thee out, for Ṣakra will I press thee out."

अ॒सौ य एषि॑ वीर॒को गृ॒हंगृ॑हं वि॒चाक॑शद् इ॒मं जम्भ॑सुतं पिब धा॒नाव॑न्तं कर॒म्भिण॑मपू॒पव॑न्तमु॒क्थिन॑म्
"Thou roaming yonder, little man, beholding every house in turn, Drink thou this Soma pressed with teeth, accompanied with grain and curds, with cake of meal and song of praise. "

आ च॒न त्वा॑ चिकित्सा॒मोऽधि॑ च॒न त्वा॒ नेम॑सि शनै॑रिव शन॒कैरि॒वेन्द्रा॑येन्दो॒ परि॑ स्रव
"Fain would we learn to know thee well, nor yet can we attain to thee. Still slowly and in gradual drops, O Indu, unto Indra flow."

कु॒विच्छक॑त्कु॒वित्कर॑त्कु॒विन्नो॒ वस्य॑स॒स्कर॑त् कु॒वित्प॑ति॒द्विषो॑ य॒तीरिन्द्रे॑ण सं॒गमा॑महै
"Will he not help and work for us? Will he not make us wealthier? Shall we not, hostile to our lord, unite ourselves to Indra now?"

इ॒मानि॒ त्रीणि॑ वि॒ष्टपा॒ तानी॑न्द्र॒ वि रो॑हय शिर॑स्त॒तस्यो॒र्वरा॒मादि॒दं म॒ उपो॒दरे॑
"O Indra, cause to sprout again three places, these which I declare,– My father's head, his cultured field, and this the part below my waist."

अ॒सौ च॒ या न॑ उ॒र्वरादि॒मां त॒न्वं१॒॑ मम॑ अथो॑ त॒तस्य॒ यच्छिरः॒ सर्वा॒ ता रो॑म॒शा कृ॑धि
"Make all of these grow crops of hair, you cultivated field of ours, My body, and my father's head."

खे रथ॑स्य॒ खेऽन॑सः॒ खे यु॒गस्य॑ शतक्रतो अ॒पा॒लामि॑न्द्र॒ त्रिष्पू॒त्व्यकृ॑णोः॒ सूर्य॑त्वचम्
"Cleansing Apâlâ, Indra! thrice, thou gavest sunlike skin to her, Drawn, Ṣatakratu! through the hole of car, of wagon, and of yoke."
